Cheers: Celebrating the Ceramic Drinking Vessel

Cheers! Drink up! is a juried exhibition and sale of ceramic drinking vessels. The competition is open to international artists. Original artwork made by the artist with clay as the primary medium is required. Submissions are accepted online through CAFÉ. The entry fee is $30 for up to four entries in one category or mixed. Submit one image of each entry, labeled as LastNameFirstNameCategory.JPG (example: SmithJohnBeer.JPG). Submissions must be received by April 26, 2019.

Ceramic artist Sumi von Dassow will jury entries and select award-winning drinking vessels. Awards include a $100 cash award for Best of Show and $50 cash awards for Best of in each of four categories: Beer, Coffee, Tea, and Spirits. Honorable mention awards will also be selected in each category. Purchase awards will be selected and paid for by local businesses. Artists will be notified of acceptance or decline by May 10, 2019.

Accepted work must be delivered to Commonwheel Artists Co-op, 102 Cañon Avenue, Manitou Springs, CO 80829 by 6 p.m. on May 31, 2019. If shipping, prepaid return postage must be included. All artwork must be available for sale during the exhibit. Commonwheel Artists Co-op will retain a 40% commission on all sales. The exhibition runs June 7 – July 1, 2019, with final judging and opening reception on June 7, 5-8 p.m.
