About This Call
Eligibility: Any artist 18 years or older is eligible to enter work in any medium except video. All entries must be the original work of the artist.
Specifications: Maximum size is 72" in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. Plexiglass glazing only. The director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard. Each artist may enter up to three pieces. Images must be sized to 1920x1920 pixels and saved as JPEG. Entry fee is $25.00.
Important dates: Entry deadline is 11/19/13 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Drop off of hand-delivered work is 01/12/14 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Last date for receipt of all accepted work is 01/15/14. Exhibition opens 01/23/14. Reception is 01/30/14 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Exhibition closes 2/21/14. Pick-up date for hand-delivered work is 2/23/14 from 1:00-4:00 PM. All shipped work will be returned in its original container with prepaid label.
Juror: Andréa Keys Connell received her MFA from Ohio University in 2009 and her BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002. She is currently the Assistant Professor of Ceramics in Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Craft/Material Studies. Her honors include serving as VCU's Fountainhead Fellow, being an invited artist at Arrowmont's Figurative Association: Human Form in Clay Symposium, and being named one of Ceramics Monthly's 2009 Emerging Artists. She has exhibited nationally in galleries including the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena Montana, The Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, PA, Roy G Biv Gallery in Columbus, OH, and Santa Fe Clay in Santa Fe, NM. She has had solo exhibitions at The Florida Holocaust Museum in St Petersburg, FL, The Sculpture Center in Cleveland, OH, Page Bond Gallery in Richmond, VA, and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville, KY.
