Ceramic Tile 2016

Pewabic, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a 100+ year history producing decorative and architectural ceramic tile, invites contemporary ceramic tile submissions for Ceramic Tile 2016. The exhibition will be juried by Bobby Silverman, an artist and designer based in New York City whose work is held in major collections including the Museum of Arts and Design, the Renwick Gallery/Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Eligible works are decorative, sculptural, and architectural tiles measuring no more than 18" x 18" and weighing no more than 20 lbs. Artists may submit up to three entries. All works must be original, created entirely by the entrant, completed within the last three years, and not in violation of copyright. Submissions should include up to two images per work, clearly labeled with artist name, title, and image number. An artist statement and/or resumé are optional but encouraged. Entry fee is $30.00, and up to six images may be submitted.

Selected works will be exhibited November 10, 2016 through January 8, 2017. Prizes include 1st Prize $500, 2nd Prize $250, and 3rd Prize $100. This is a cash and carry exhibition; submitted works must be available for sale with a 50% commission paid to the artist. Artists are responsible for all delivery and shipping costs and insurance to and from Pewabic. Work must be received between October 12-25, 2016. Unsold works may be picked up January 17, 2017, with return shipment commencing that date. Pewabic will insure accepted works for 60% of their value from arrival until release to the shipping agent. A completed W9 is required to process payments.
