About This Call
Central Oregon Community College Art Committee is accepting proposals for a spring 2018 exhibit at its Bend campus Health Careers Center. The exhibition will be located in the Health Careers Center first floor corridor area, a highly trafficked space measuring 11 ft. H x 46 ft. W, equipped with a custom hanging system at 8 ft. Work in any 2D medium may be considered. All accepted work must be suitably framed/mounted and ready for hanging. The exhibition site will be provided as-is, and exhibitors should review lighting prior to proposal submission to ensure it will work for the proposed art; no additional lighting or alterations to the space are permissible.
Eligibility is open to all artists living in the United States, 18 years of age and older. Applicants who have exhibited at any College location within the last two years are not eligible to apply. Artists must submit a minimum of five and maximum of ten images, a brief artist statement (no more than one page typewritten), and a resume. Only one application per artist is permitted. The proposal deadline is March 30, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified no later than April 11, 2018 regarding selection. Installation is prior to May 11, 2018, with the exhibit running May 14 – June 18, 2018.
The selected artist will receive a $500 stipend. The College will provide insurance coverage during the exhibition period. One hundred percent of sales will be kept by the artist. The artist shall retain the rights of the artworks; the College reserves the right to reproduce any submitted work for documentary, educational, publicity purposes and other non-commercial purposes. The Art Committee will evaluate proposals based on artistic merit, originality, professionalism of submission, cohesiveness of the samples submitted, and appropriateness to the public nature of the space. Contact Drew Cecchini at [email protected] or 541-318-3703 with questions.
