CenterFest Arts Festival 2025

Now in its 50th year, CenterFest Arts Festival is the longest running outdoor juried arts festival in North Carolina. Located in Durham's vibrant Downtown District, the event is a favorite among visual artists, performing artists and visitors. CenterFest is particularly lauded by exhibitors for its artist services amenities, including complimentary breakfast, lunch delivered to artist tents, attentive staff, abundant volunteers, and easy load-in/load-out. CenterFest is Sunshine Artist's #1 Fine Arts Festival in North Carolina, and is ranked #22 nationally.

The festival takes place September 20-21, 2025 in Downtown Durham with free public admission. Single 10' x 10' booth spaces are $315, double booth spaces are $590, with a $40 non-refundable application fee. Artists must submit 6 images of their work plus one booth shot. Merit awards include Best of Show ($1000), First Place ($600), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($400), and Best Durham Artist ($300). The festival accepts work in 17 mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, fiber, glass, and more.

All artists must be rejuried every two years based on artistic merit as determined by CenterFest jurors. Work must be original and handmade by the artist - no imports, commercially manufactured items, cast molds (except original artist-designed molds), kits, or AI generated art are allowed. Artists must attend both days of the festival and exhibit only work consistent with their accepted application images. The festival operates rain or shine with 24-hour security, reserved artist parking, and complimentary meals provided.
