About This Call
The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) announces the 2018 Members' Juried Exhibition, presenting $2,000 in awards. All new or current CPA Members working in all still photographic media are welcome to enter. There is no theme; any two-dimensional subject matter is eligible. The submission period runs from Monday, April 9 through Friday, May 25, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time.
Entry fees are $75.00 for non-members (includes a one-year CPA Individual Basic membership and one image entry) or $25.00 for current CPA members for the first image. Additional images cost $10.00 each, up to twenty total. Entries are accepted through the CallForEntry (CaFE) online entry system. Images must be submitted at 1920 pixels (longest dimension) @ 72 ppi, 8-bit JPEG, AdobeRGB (1998) profile, not exceeding 5MB. Each image must be titled; "Untitled" is not allowed. Entries cannot be edited after submission.
Forty-five images selected by juror Charles Cramer will be exhibited in the CPA gallery in Carmel, CA, and featured in an online gallery on the CPA website. Up to an additional forty-five images will be selected for the online gallery only. All selected images will be published in the 2018 Members' Juried Exhibition catalog. Awards include: First Place $700, Second Place $500, Third Place $300, and Five Awards of Merit at $100 each. Artists selected for the gallery exhibition will be notified via email after June 4, 2018. Gallery artwork must arrive by Thursday, June 28, 2018. The exhibition opens July 7 with an opening reception and awards presentation, running through August 12, 2018.
Gallery artwork must be ready-to-hang, framed with acrylic Plexiglas only (no glass), and not exceed 30 inches on the long side or weigh more than 10 pounds. Stretched canvas and wood or metal frames are allowed. Matted but unframed work will not be displayed. Artwork must be shipped via FedEx or UPS with a prepaid return shipping label. A signed Exhibitor Agreement must accompany the work.
