Center for Photographic Art - 2018 International Juried Exhibition

The Center for Photographic Art announces the 2018 International Juried Exhibition, open to all living photographers worldwide over the age of 18 working in all still photographic media. There is no theme; any subject matter is eligible. Photographs accepted for previous CPA gallery or online exhibitions are not eligible. The submission period runs from Monday, July 27 through Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time.

Forty-five juror-selected photographs will be exhibited in CPA's historic gallery at Sunset Center in Carmel, California, with an additional forty-five images selected for an online gallery on the CPA website. An exhibition catalog will be available for purchase. The 2018 juror is Eve Schillo, Assistant Curator in the Wallis Annenberg Photography Department at LACMA. Awards total $6,000: First Place $2,500, Second Place $1,500, Third Place $1,000, and four awards of merit at $250 each.

Entry fees are $110 for CPA members (up to three images) or $160 for nonmembers (up to three images). Additional images may be submitted at $10 each for a total of fifteen images. All entries must be submitted through the CallForEntry online system with images at 2000 pixels (long dimension) at 72 ppi, AdobeRGB profile, saved as 8-bit JPEG files not exceeding 5MB. Selected gallery artists must deliver framed artwork by October 31, 2018. Framed pieces must have the long dimension no larger than 30 inches, be glazed with acrylic (no glass), and weigh less than 10 pounds. Artists will be notified via email on October 10, 2018. The exhibition opens with a reception and awards presentation on November 10, 2018, and closes December 22, 2018. Artwork returns occur January 4-13, 2019.
