About This Call
The Center for Photographic Art announces the 2016 International Juried Exhibition. Forty-five juror-selected photographs will be exhibited in CPA's historic gallery at Sunset Center in Carmel, California. Selected photographs will vie for three cash awards totaling $6,000: Best in Show ($3,000), Second Place ($2,000), and Third Place ($1,000). Approximately forty-five additional juror-selected photographs will be featured in an online gallery on the CPA website. An exhibition catalog of selected images will be available for purchase.
The juror is Linde B. Lehtinen, PhD., Assistant Curator of Photography at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition is open to all amateur and professional photographers over age 18 from all geographic locations, working in all still photographic media. There is no theme; any subject matter is eligible. All work must have been completed on or after January 1, 2006. CPA staff and Trustees are not eligible.
Entry fees for regular submissions (9/20/16 - 9/26/16): $155 for nonmembers, $110 for CPA members (minimum three images required). Early entry rates (8/22/16 - 9/19/16) are $130 for nonmembers and $85 for members. All entrants may submit up to twelve additional images at $10 each for a total of fifteen images. Submissions must include 3-15 images. Selected photographers will be notified by October 17, 2016. Framed artwork must be delivered to CPA by November 2, 2016. The exhibition opens November 12, 2016 and closes December 23, 2016. Artwork may be picked up or shipped between January 4-13, 2017.
