Center for Innovation "Metro State Creates" Show, Tell & Sell

The Center for Innovation (CFI) at Metropolitan State College of Denver invites current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Colorado Creative Industries community to submit creative works for a juried exhibition. The show will launch the "Metro State Creates" showroom, a 1,100-foot retail space on the Auraria campus designed to showcase art and design work that promotes entrepreneurship in creative endeavors. The showroom provides community exposure and sales potential in a location with a population of over 45,000 students and employees.

Eligibility is open to Metro State students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the entrepreneurial community in Colorado (must be 18 years or older). Work must be non-offensive to a general audience of all ages, completed within the last three years, and can be for sale. The exhibition runs from April 18, 2013 to August 1, 2013.

Applications must be submitted by March 8, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. MST via www.callforentry.org. The $20 entry fee is required to complete the application. Applicants must submit up to 5 images with captions (including year, media, and dimensions), an artist statement not exceeding 1000 characters, and a current résumé not exceeding 3 pages. Artists whose work is selected must be prepared to deliver work on April 5, 2013, and communicate with the selection committee about installation. The CFI provides insurance coverage up to $500; works valued above $500 must be self-insured. Selected artists will pay the gallery 30% of sales.
