Centennial Call for Muralists

The City of Centennial is seeking applications from muralists to create original art for the city's first public mural project. This two-round process invites artists to submit examples of past work along with an artist statement expressing how they will incorporate Centennial's values into their art and their experience with mural art. Artists will be selected for the second round based on their submitted work examples and artist statement.

Artists invited to the second round will be notified by the week of May 20th and will receive a small stipend to provide a concept sketch. Sketches must be completed by June 10th and will be judged by Centennial citizens alongside the artist's prior work examples. Finalists will be notified in mid-July. The winning artist(s) will have their concepts, past work, and names announced at Centennial Under the Stars on August 10th at Centennial Center Park.

Selected artists will receive $5,000 plus a stipend for supplies. Installation is scheduled for August 22nd through September 12th. This call is open to all local Colorado artists and artist teams regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental ability. Youth, youth groups, and schools are highly encouraged to apply. City of Centennial staff, elected and appointed officials, and their immediate family are not eligible. Applicants must submit 5-10 images of past work.
