Celebrating Woman

Location 1980 is an eclectic art space supporting community and local arts with over 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor creative space. The space provides working studio space for artists and hosts solo and group shows, exhibitions, workshops, instructed painting classes, and other community events.

This exhibition, "Celebrating Woman," invites artists to explore the diverse culture of women through photography, painting, drawing, mixed media, or any other medium. For many years the female/goddess/woman has been a muse to many artists. Original artwork only is accepted; no giclees or reproductions. Artists can enter up to four pieces for consideration. An artist statement and brief description of the work must be provided with submission. Entry fee is $35.00.

Three works will receive a Juror's Award ribbon and certificate for the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. One work will be designated "Best in Show" and will be used as the cover of the exhibition catalog. The exhibition runs May 4-26, 2018, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. Art drop-off is Tuesday, May 1 from 12-8 p.m., and art pick-up is Wednesday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Artwork received by mail must include return shipping with pre-paid postage. Artwork must be received ready to hang or display with wires and hanging hardware included; maximum weight is 50 lbs. Location 1980 retains 30% commission on any work sold during the exhibition. If artwork is selected, Location 1980 reserves the right to photograph and use images for marketing and publicity without compensation.
