Celebrating the National Lands of California

"Celebrating the National Lands of California" is a juried exhibition and competition organized by the Wildling Museum of Art and Nature. Artists may submit digital images of their works online for jury selection. The entry fee is $35 for the first image and $20 for each additional entry, with a limit of three entries per artist. Wildling Museum members receive a $15 discount on the entry fee.

The exhibition will artistically present National Parks, Monuments, Preserves, and Recreation Areas located within California, including Channel Islands, Death Valley, Kings Canyon & Sequoia, Joshua Tree, Lassen Volcanic, Pinnacles, Redwoods, Yosemite, and numerous national monuments and preserves. The goal is to bring awareness to California's national lands and to celebrate wildness, nature, and preservation while providing artists an opportunity to display and sell their work. The exhibit will be held at the Wildling Museum, 1511-B Mission Drive, Solvang, CA 93463 from July 20, 2019 through January 20, 2020. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Work must be original artwork, wall-hung only, and not exceed 48 inches in any dimension including frame. Delivered work must match the submitted image with no substitutions allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit. Three cash awards will be announced at the opening: $2,500 for first prize, $1,000 for second prize, and $500 for third prize. Winners will be considered for acquisition into the Wildling's permanent collection. Revenue from sales will be distributed 60% to the artist and 40% to the Wildling. Artists must submit digital images by May 20, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance notifications will be sent June 13, 2019. Artwork delivery is July 1-12, 2019, and pickup is January 21-23, 2020.
