Celebrating the Flora & Fauna of the Midwest

Burnt Sienna Gallery, opened in May 2024 in Galena, IL, invites artists to participate in a juried Flora & Fauna exhibition. This call is open to all mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite pencil, ink, pastel, mixed media, printmaking, fiber, photography, and 3D functional and sculptural pieces. The exhibition celebrates the Midwest Region's animals (fauna) and plant life (flora), with any interpretation of this theme welcomed. Submissions are open to artists from the Midwest Region, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The exhibition runs from September 20, 2024 through December 31, 2024. All ages and skill levels are welcome, with a preference for fine art pieces. Entry fee is $25.00. Applicants may submit up to six pieces as digital images (JPEG or JPG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB file size). For each piece, provide artist name, title, size (width x height x depth in inches), materials (25 words or less), techniques (25 words or less), mounting/condition status, photo credit if applicable, and a statement about the piece (150 words or less). All entries must be original.

Selected artwork will be displayed at the gallery located in the historic driftless area of northwest Illinois. Artwork must be picked up by January 5, 2025, or shipped with a prepaid label created by the artist. The gallery may request an extension of artwork for future exhibitions.
