About This Call
Sarratt Gallery at Vanderbilt University announces the Second Annual Celebrating American Craft – Southern Style, a juried exhibition of fine American craft. The exhibition runs September 16 – November 10, 2019.
This exhibit is open to Southern artists living and working in the South. Artists from Virginia, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Florida may apply. All craft art made with clay, metals, fiber arts, and glass will be considered. Work may be influenced by traditional southern craft techniques, inspired by the southern lifestyle, themes from southern literature and music, or the natural landscape of the Southern States. All works must have been created in the past two years and may be for sale or from collections (NFS).
Entry fee is $25.00. Applicants must submit 1-3 images of their work. Invited artists are responsible for shipping costs to the gallery; the gallery will pay return shipping. Artists may also deliver and pick up work at their own expense. An artist reception is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2019, 4:30 – 6:30pm.
