About This Call
The Silverthorne Performing Arts Center invites artists who reside in Summit County, Colorado to submit work for the Celebrate Summit 2019 Colorado Colors exhibit. The exhibit will showcase a broad variety of works by local artists through two separate summertime exhibits at the Performing Arts Center. A total of twelve Summit County artists will be selected to have one to three works displayed during one of two separate exhibits: the first exhibit runs June and July, the second exhibit runs August and September. Artwork will be displayed on indoor walls in the lobby and education corridor. Pedestal and floor spaces are not available.
The "Colorado Colors" theme calls for pieces that depict life in Colorado and are vibrant, colorful and radiate energy. Entries must be from artists who reside in Summit County, Colorado. The committee seeks a broad variety of mediums and forms. Pieces must be a minimum total size of 150 square inches and a maximum total size of 750 square inches, including frame/mount. All selected work must be delivered to the SPAC on the installation date required (exhibit #1: May 29 / exhibit #2: July 29). Artwork must be created offsite and be ready for display upon delivery, including appropriate framing, mounting and hanging brackets. The artist is responsible for artwork transportation and delivery.
Selected artists will receive a $200 honorarium. Exhibited work can be for sale if the artist chooses; a 10% commission will be paid to the Town for artwork sold during the exhibition, however any sold pieces must remain for the duration of the exhibit. Printed information will be displayed listing the artist and materials. After the exhibit is removed, artwork must be retrieved from the town within 7 days. Entry fee is $10.00. Submit 3-5 images of your work. Entry deadline is May 8, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Contact: [email protected]
