Celebrate Santa Cruz Valley!

Tubac Center of the Arts presents Celebrate Santa Cruz Valley!, a regional juried exhibition recognizing the national designation of the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area. Artwork should reflect the themes of the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area's eleven interpretive storylines: Sonoran Desert, sky islands and desert seas, streams in the desert, bird habitat and migration corridors, Native American lifeways, the Spanish and Mexican frontier, desert farming, ranching traditions, mining booms, military posts, and U.S.-Mexico border culture.

Eligibility: All artists 18 years or older residing in Santa Cruz and Pima counties, Arizona may submit artwork in any medium reflecting the theme. Giclee reproductions are not permitted. Entry must be original, entirely the work of the artist, and cannot have been previously shown at TCA. Up to four works may be entered. Entry fee is $36 ($32 with TCA Member discount) plus $5 per additional entry image ($3 with member discount). Jurying will be based on digital images in jpg format only.

Exhibition dates: September 22 - November 12, 2023 at Tubac Center of the Arts. Opening reception: Friday, September 22, 5-7pm. Award winners' artwork will be featured in a follow-up exhibit at Discover Marana Visitors Center, 13251 N Lon Adams Rd, Marana, AZ 85653, from November 21 - December 20, 2023. Juror: Leslie Epperson. Awards: Best of Show $500, Award of Excellence $300, Award of Merit $200, Honorable Mention $100 (two awards). All artwork must be for sale; TCA retains 40% commission. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and pickup from DMVC. Artwork must arrive ready to display and cannot be removed prior to exhibition close, including sold art.
