Celebrate Art Juried Show

The Art League of Henderson County announces a call for submissions for its annual juried exhibit, Celebrate Art. This exhibit celebrates the best of regional artists and is open to artists from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Artists aged 18 and over are eligible to apply.

The entry fee is $40 for up to three works. Artists may submit work in the following categories: work on canvas or panel, work on paper, photography, 2-dimensional mixed media, 3-dimensional work, and digital/AI created art. All artwork must be originally conceived and self-created by the artist. Maximum size for 2-D work including frame is 60" x 60". 3-D work must hang, be free standing, or fit on a riser surface with a weight limit of 50 lbs. Artwork must arrive dry, wired, and ready to hang. All artwork must be available for purchase and priced appropriately; the Art League retains a 30% commission for all sales.

Juror: Elizabeth Goddard, Executive Director, Spartanburg Art Museum. Judge: Lucy Clark, Owner, The Lucy Clark Gallery and Studios, Brevard, NC. Prizes totaling $2,500 will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best in Show and $250 awards in each category, plus one Honorable Mention in each category. The exhibition runs August 5-31, 2023 at The Art Place Gallery and the Art Place Studios Gallery in Hendersonville, NC. Hand delivery of artwork is required August 1-2, 2023, 12-6 pm. Opening and awards ceremony: August 6, 2023, Noon to 6 pm. Artwork pickup: September 1, 2023, 12-6 pm. Entry deadline: July 15, 2023.
