Celebrate! An Open Call For Art

In honor of SCWCA's 50th anniversary, Celebrate! is a dynamic juried exhibition marking five decades of creating community through art, education, and social activism in the visual arts across Southern California. This open call welcomes all self-identified women artists to submit work interpreting the theme broadly. Artists are encouraged to reflect on and celebrate what matters most in their lives and creative practice—whether personal milestones, social progress, relationships, the natural world, identity, resistance, cultural heritage, or the act of making art itself.

The exhibition will be held at Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center Gallery, 1100 West Clark Avenue, Burbank, CA, from September 5-25, 2025. The juror is Holly Jerger, Art Galleries Director at California State University, Northridge. Submissions are open to artists and photographers working in all media except AI. Artists may submit up to six original artworks as high-resolution JPGs. The maximum size for 2D work is 48x48 inches; the gallery will provide pedestals for 3D work. No video, installation, or performance works are accepted. All work must be appropriate for viewers of all ages and must be ready to hang with screw eyes and hanging wire. Entry fee is $40 for the first work plus $5 for each additional work (up to six total). All artwork must be for sale, with 75% of sales going to the artist and 25% to Burbank Arts Federation. Acceptance notices will be sent August 15, 2025. Artwork delivery is September 2, 2025, 9am-12pm. The potluck opening reception is September 5, 2025, 7:00-9:00 pm. Artwork pickup is September 26, 2025, 9:00 am-Noon.
