Casco Art Cooperative, Public Art Initiative

Casco Art Cooperative is a public arts initiative that connects businesses with display space to artists seeking exposure and sales opportunities. The cooperative offers an alternative to traditional gallery exhibitions, placing work in group exhibitions and small solo shows throughout the Midcoast Maine area.

Artists may submit up to 10 pieces of original art for inclusion in a database available to participating hosting exhibitors until December 31, 2014. Selected works will be insured and brokered by Casco Art Cooperative with a 40% commission split between the cooperative and the hosting exhibitor. Works can be temporarily withdrawn from the database if scheduled for exhibition elsewhere and resubmitted at no additional fee. Selected pieces can be dropped off or shipped via U.S.P.S., UPS, or FedEx to the office in Brunswick, Maine.

Every exhibition space undergoes site evaluation to ensure stable environmental conditions and security. Exhibitions are predominantly curated by host exhibitors, providing opportunities for various styles, sizes, and mediums. The application fee is $50 for the first 5 pieces and $10 for each additional piece (up to 10 total submissions). Application fees are non-refundable and support program administration. All work submitted must be original.
