Cary Photographic Artists 17th Annual Open Juried Photographic Exhibit

Cary Photographic Artists announces its 17th Annual Open Juried Photographic Exhibit. The competition is open to all photographers over the age of 18. Artists may submit up to 3 entries in any combination of monochrome and color photographic prints. Entry fee is $40.00 for up to three images. The exhibition will display 50 mounted and framed juried images from approximately 150 submissions.

Only mounted and framed photographic prints will be judged. Any photographic process may be used as long as the photographic process is dominant. Canvas wraps and prints on wood, metal, foam core, or other surfaces are acceptable. No AI or text-to-image generated images will be accepted. Work previously accepted into prior CPA Juried Exhibitions is not permitted. Framed image size cannot exceed 33 inches on the longest edge. All work must be properly wired for hanging with wire ends securely taped; sawtooth or alligator hangers are not permitted. Artist signatures may not appear on the front of submissions.

Prints must be delivered to the Cary Senior Center, 120 Maury Odell Place, Bond Park (off High House Road), Cary NC 27513 on Monday, October 21, 2024 between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Artists will be notified by phone on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 if their images are accepted. The exhibition runs October 23, 2024 through December 19, 2024. A reception with juror comments and awards presentation will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Cary Senior Center. Images not accepted must be picked up Wednesday, October 23, 2024 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Accepted pieces may be picked up Friday, December 20, 2024 between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm or Saturday, December 21, 2024 between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Awards include Bobbi Hopp Best in Show ($400), and in both monochrome and color categories: First Place ($200), Second Place ($125), Third Place ($75), and three Honorable Mentions. Winning entrants must supply a 1200 x 800 pixel jpeg image for the CPA website. Entry fees are non-refundable.
