CARE

Hera Gallery invites artists to submit work exploring the concept of care. The exhibition considers how we as artists and society relate to care at this moment in time—from taking care and giving care to self-care and the call to care. Care runs through all our lives from beginning to end: human care, animal care, environmental care, or caring for an idea, a faith, a passion, a commitment. Care is associated with cultural connections, age, and gender. How is this shifting? How do we find balance when engaged in caregiving at all levels? Artists are invited to consider: How does the word Care resonate with you? Which images, stories, and sentiments does it bring forth? Which role does care play in your life as an artist and in your artistic practice?

Hera Gallery seeks work in all media, 2D, 3D, and video. 3D work is limited to 100 lbs and must fit through a 5'10" x 6'8" door. 2D work must also fit through said door. Applicants may submit 3-10 total work samples, including up to 10 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files. Entry fee is $35.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. The juror is Priya N. Green, Director of the Chen Art Gallery.

Exhibition dates are May 10th - June 14th, 2025. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by Thursday, May 1st. Artists will be notified of acceptance by April 9th, 2025. As an artist-run nonprofit, Hera takes no commission in national juried exhibitions; 100% of sales go directly to the artist. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label. Artists are also responsible for their own insurance. Hera Gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity and use artist names, likenesses, and artwork in exhibition materials.
