About This Call
Presented by Douglas Land Conservancy, this plein air painting event invites artists to paint on beautiful, private conserved properties in southern Douglas County, Colorado that are rarely open to the public. Artists will have the opportunity to paint on location for a week, followed by a VIP art sale and reception in downtown Castle Rock, Colorado. Volunteers will be available on site throughout the event to provide information and directions to the painting locations.
The event is open to all artists painting in plein air. Subject matter must reflect the conserved lands. All work must be wired and ready to hang. Artists may submit up to five images for jurying that are representative of their typical work. Submissions should include a brief biography describing your work, awards, shows participated in, galleries featuring your work, price range, and website.
Important dates: Orientation meeting Monday morning, June 20, 2022; Painting on Conserved Lands June 20-24, 2022; VIP Art Show Reception June 24, 2022; Art Show Dates June 24-26, 2022; Pickup unsold paintings June 26, 2022. All work submitted and displayed must be available for sale. Douglas Land Conservancy will handle all sales with a 60/40 split (60% to artist, 40% to Douglas Land Conservancy). Artists are responsible for insurance if desired. Entry fee is $65.00.
