Captured Through A Lens

SCORE (Southern California Open Regional Exhibitions) invites photographers to enter the Captured Through A Lens virtual exhibit. Both black and white and color photos are accepted. Photography will be juried using digital images (.JPGs).

Eligibility is open to all photographers worldwide. Work must have been created within the last three years and must be original and of the photographer's own execution. Entries must not violate copyright laws, and photography created under the direct supervision of an instructor is not eligible. Once submitted, photography may not be substituted or withdrawn. All juried photography must remain online until the end of the exhibit. Do not enter photos that have been shown at any previous SFVACC/SCORE exhibit.

Photography submissions are limited to six (6) original photos per photographer. All entries must be submitted as high resolution (1-5MB) digital .JPEG or .JPG images. Images should be without frame or background, and photos should not be taken through glass or Plexiglas. Entry fee is $35 for one entry, with up to 5 additional entries at $5 each. Fees are non-refundable, and there is no guarantee of acceptance.

Awards: Best of Show $800, 1st Place $400, 2nd Place $300. The juror will also select up to four Honorable Mention awards (certificates only). Juror: Paul Moshay.

Important dates: Entry starts July 13, 2021. Deadline for entries: September 6, 2021 at 11:59 pm MST. Notice of acceptance: September 13-15, 2021. Award winners notified by September 18, 2021. Exhibit opens October 1, 2021. Virtual Artists' Reception: October 9, 2021, 5-7 pm PST. Exhibit closes October 31, 2021 at 11:59 pm PST. The exhibit will remain on view on the SFVACC website Archived Exhibits page indefinitely.

All sales are handled directly between photographer and buyer. Prices cannot be changed from those stated at submission. SFVACC receives no commission on sales. If a photo is sold, the artist must notify SFVACC. Photos without a sale price will be considered "Not for Sale" (NFS). Collecting sales tax is the responsibility of the photographer. Shipping and insurance are by mutual agreement between buyer and photographer.

Participating photographers are invited to introduce themselves and discuss their art during the virtual reception. Photographers will be allocated a 1 minute time slot if they wish to participate. The virtual exhibit may be viewed 24/7 on the SFVACC/SCORE website at www.sfvacc.org.
