About This Call
The Cape Cod Museum of Art (CCMoA) and the Cape Playhouse invite visual artists, graphic designers, and illustrators to submit work for the 2020 Cape Playhouse Program Cover competition. The theme is "Summer Play." Five finalists will be selected to create cover designs, with one winner featured on 35,000 program covers distributed during the 2020 summer season.
This two-round competition begins with digital submissions of up to three examples of work demonstrating proficiency in creating an uplifting narrative around the theme. Submissions are due March 16, 2020. Five finalists will be notified on March 18, 2020. In Round 2, finalists must submit one original 2D work in any medium with an aspect ratio of 15 x 11 or 17 x 9 (vertical) by April 24, 2020. A panel of three jurors will select the winner, announced May 1, 2020 at a VIP event during ArtWeek at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
The competition winner receives a $500 cash award, an annual subscription to the Cape Playhouse 2020 season (6 shows), and two VIP tickets to annual gala auctions at both institutions. All five finalists receive exhibition opportunities at the CCMoA and/or Cape Playhouse, recognition on websites and social media, four tickets to the May 1st reveal event, 50% of proceeds from artwork sales at benefit galas (July 12 at Cape Playhouse and August 15 at CCMoA), and family memberships to the CCMoA. Entry fee is $35. International artists are eligible.
