About This Call
The Cape Cod Museum of Art invites artists from across the USA and around the world to submit original artwork for the Annual International Juried Exhibition on the theme "Dreamscapes and Inner Worlds." The exhibition will be prominently featured in the Hope/McClennen Gallery from April 3 to June 29, 2025. All interpretations of the theme will be reviewed by internationally recognized artist, curator, and educator Joe Diggs, who will award three monetary prizes: $500, $200, and $100.
This call welcomes broad interpretations encompassing surrealist imagery, fantasy, memories, stream of consciousness, otherworldly visions, abstraction, and alternative interpretations related to the theme. Artists may submit work in all traditional and unconventional 2D and 3D mediums, as well as video and digital art. Each artist may submit up to five artworks, with each artwork submitted in a separate application. The entry fee is $25 per artwork/application. Submissions must include up to three high-resolution digital images (1-5mb each) and/or one video for digital or sculpture entries, along with the title, year completed, medium, dimensions, price (if for sale), and optional artist statement (up to 2000 characters).
Specifications: 2D work maximum 48" x 48" (including frame), must be professionally framed or gallery wrapped, and securely wired for hanging. 3D freestanding work maximum 72"h x 36"w x 36"d; pedestal work maximum 38"h x 24"w x 24"d. All work must have a label with artist name, title, medium, date created, and insurance value. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered Friday, March 28 from 10am-1pm or by appointment Saturday, March 29 before noon, or mailed/shipped to arrive by March 28. Shipped work must use reusable containers with pre-paid return shipping labels; artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping costs. Artwork selected for exhibition can be made available for sale, with 60% of proceeds going to the artist and 40% to the museum. Notification of acceptance will be provided by March 14, 2025. The opening reception is Friday, April 11 from 4:00-6:30pm, including a gallery talk with artists from 4:00-5:30pm.
