About This Call
This International Exhibition, titled "All The World's A Stage," invites visual artists to explore unlimited interpretations of theater, dance, and music through their artwork. Artists may take inspiration from a specific performance or performer, use kinetic artwork embracing movement and time, create politically focused work responding to today's world stage, or explore how performance manifests in religious, familial, social, and romantic life. The exhibition will be displayed in the museum's Bank of America / Robert Douglas Hunter exhibition hall and will also be available virtually on the CCMoA website.
Artists may submit up to three works. Juror Bill Evaul will select three works to receive monetary awards of $500, $200, and $100. Artwork selected for the exhibition can be made available for public sale, with 60% of proceeds going to the artist and 40% to the CCMoA. The entry fee is $25.00 for one submission and $10 per each additional submission, up to three total. Submissions must include one high-resolution digital image per artwork (1mb-5mb), title, year completed, medium, dimensions, and an optional artist statement (up to 120 words).
Eligible media includes 2D and 3D work: drawing, painting, printing, photography, collage, assemblage, and sculpture. Only original works may be submitted; Giclee prints are not acceptable, but digital photography and digital print methods producing original photographic images are acceptable. Maximum size for 2D work is 48" x 48" including frame; all 2D artwork must be professionally framed or gallery wrapped canvas, with Plexiglas recommended for framed works. Maximum size for free-standing 3D work is 72"h x 36"w x 36"d; for pedestal 3D work, 38"h x 18"w x 18"d. All work must be suitably labeled with artist name, title, medium, date created, and insurance value. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibition. Final submission deadline is April 23, 2022. Notification of acceptance is April 27, 2022. All artwork must be received by May 9, 2022. Exhibition dates are May 11 – July 24, 2022, with a reception on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4-7 pm. This exhibition is sponsored by the Jeremiah Kaplan Foundation.
