About This Call
All visual artists ages 21 and over and residing in the United States are eligible to apply. There is no application fee.
Submit a minimum of one original work of art with the following specifications: artwork must be 7.5" x 4.25" (or proportionate to that), no more than 6 colors, and must convey an environmental theme promoting sustainability and that aluminum cans are "infinitely recyclable" and the most sustainable package. Submit a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 digital images. One of the images submitted must fit the can template (floor/siteplan image). Be aware that three logos—CAN'd Aid Foundation, Ball & Metal Recycles Forever—will be added to the final winning artwork, along with "DRINKING WATER" and other necessary text.
Deadline: Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury dates: September 5th. Top Five Finalists will be announced and notified Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Public social media voting: Thursday, September 7 - Thursday, September 14. Final winner announced Friday, September 15, 2017. Awards: 1st Place - $2,500 plus artwork featured on 1 million cans distributed nation-wide; 2nd Place - $1,000; 3rd Place - $500.
