About This Call

Gallerium presents Cancer: Never Give Up - 2023, the 3rd annual dual exhibition and publication, an initiative to fight cancer and spread hope through art. October is the month of awareness for breast and liver cancer, two of the most common cancers globally. This competition serves as a platform for visual artists to contribute their unique perspectives toward this meaningful cause.

Artists are encouraged to explore and depict various aspects related to the journey of cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones. Subject matter may include: strength and resilience of individuals facing cancer; hope and inspiration offering solace and encouragement; support and solidarity highlighting care networks; personal stories narrating individual journeys and experiences; medical advances celebrating cancer research progress; and emotional impact reflecting the toll cancer takes on patients, families, and friends. All interpretations in any 2D and 3D art medium, abstract or representational, are welcomed.

Selected artworks will be exhibited in the Cancer: Never Give Up international exhibition online from October 1-31, 2023, and published in The Book of Arts: Cancer - Never Give Up publication. The online book version is free; high-quality print versions are available through print-on-demand services. Selected artworks will be promoted for sales via the online exhibition. Artists receive a digital certificate, exhibition catalogue listing, sharable exhibition poster, social media promotional badge, and a lifelong link to boost online visibility. A report with views, comments, engagement rates, and sales statistics will be sent to artists. Some selected artworks may be published in magazines and books within the Biafarin art network. Each artist receives a free online profile page on the Biafarin platform.

Submission is free. Selected artists pay a USD 40 selection fee with a money-back guarantee until the exhibition opening. Each artist can submit up to 5 artworks; up to 2 will be accepted. Eligibility is open to all visual artists worldwide. Work sample requirements: 1-5 images.
