Camera USA® 2019: National Photography Exhibition and Award

Camera USA® 2019 is a national photography competition open to photographers residing in the United States. Entrants must submit one photograph taken in the United States after January 1, 2015. The competition features three professional jurors: Tracie Davis (Photographer and Art Director for Zola.com, Brooklyn, New York), Karen Irvine (Chief Curator and Deputy Director, Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago), and Carol McCusker (Curator of Photography, Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida, Gainesville). The entry fee is $28 (non-refundable), with a limit of one entry per photographer.

The competition offers one $5,000 prize and five $100 honorable mention awards. The National Photography Award Nominee will be notified by May 14, 2019, and must pledge to attend the preview reception and awards presentation on May 31, 2019, by 6 pm EDT to accept the prize in person. Award nominees receive travel and hotel accommodations: those residing in Florida receive up to $300 in travel reimbursement and up to three nights of hotel accommodations; those outside Florida receive domestic round-trip economy airfare and three nights of hotel accommodations (May 30-June 1, 2019). A maximum of 80 photographs will be included in the exhibition.

The exhibition will be held at the Naples Art Association, 585 Park Street, Naples, Florida, from June 3 through July 5, 2019. Photographs must be delivered in exhibition-ready condition with proper hanging wire. Maximum overall dimensions (including frame) are 40 x 40 inches. Glass may be used only if the frame is 20 x 20 inches or smaller; larger frames must use Plexiglas or shatterproof glazing. Jury results will be posted in applicants' CaFÉ accounts by March 22, 2019.
