Camera Obscura Gallery: The Art of Photography Today 2

Jurors Hal Gould and Loretta Young-Gautier will select approximately 50-75 photographs for an eight-week exhibition at Camera Obscura Gallery, one of the world's oldest photography galleries. Exhibition dates are December 10, 2010 through February 5, 2011. The public and artists' reception is Friday, December 10, 2010.

Submissions are accepted in four categories: Landscape/Nature, People, Urban/Architecture, and Abstract/Experimental. Entries open August 1, 2010 with a deadline of midnight MST on October 1, 2010. Judging occurs October 5-22, 2010, with notification of acceptance the week of October 26, 2010. Entry fee is $35.00, with an additional $12.00 media fee for submissions over three images. Submit 3-12 images. Awards include Overall Best of Show ($500), Best in each category ($200), and Merit Awards in each category ($50).

All entries must be available for sale. Framed works should not exceed 40" in largest dimension and must use only white or off-white mats. Accepted works must be framed using only Plexiglas or acrylic and must arrive at the gallery between November 16-30, 2010. Artwork may be picked up February 8-12, 2011. The gallery retains a 40% commission on sales. By submission, artists grant Camera Obscura Gallery the right to use their images for marketing the exhibition and display on the gallery website, with artist recognition provided.
