Darkroom Residents receive three months of free, 24/7 access to CCNY facilities including darkrooms, digital work stations, and shooting studio. Residents also receive free admission to all 2013 CCNY events, a monthly stipend, and donated material support during their residency. Depending on funding, each resident may have a solo exhibition at CCNY after their term of residency.
Eligibility: All artists currently residing in New York City who are working in photography or lens-based art are eligible to apply. Living accommodations are not provided. Students must have completed their studies on or before January 1, 2013 to be eligible. Application materials must include: a work sample of 10 images (preferably from a single body of work), a letter of intent (maximum 300 words) addressing what you aim to accomplish during the residency and how it would benefit your artistic work and career goals, a brief one-paragraph artist statement (maximum 300 words), and a one-page CV. A jury of photography professionals will review all eligible applications. Applicants will be notified of their status by mid-December.
