About This Call
SCORE (Southern California Open Regional Exhibitions) invites artists and photographers to explore their artistic relationship with flora and fauna in nature. Submissions should feature natural elements including insects, birds, and animals. The exhibition is open to all artists and photographers worldwide.
Artwork submissions are limited to six original artworks per artist in the following media: drawing, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, painting, digital art, and sculpture. Work must have been created within the last three years and must be original and of the artist's own execution. Entries must be submitted as high-resolution digital JPEGs (1-5MB) either cropped to remove background or on a black background without a mat. Entry fee is $35 for the first artwork, with up to 5 additional entries at $5 each.
Awards include Best of Show ($800), 1st Place ($400), 2nd Place ($300), and up to four Honorable Mention awards. The juror is Suzanne Edmonson, a California-based artist. The exhibit opens May 1, 2022 and closes May 31, 2022. A virtual artists' reception is scheduled for May 7, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm PST. The exhibit will remain on view on the SFVACC website Archived Exhibits page indefinitely. Acceptance notifications will be sent April 14-15, 2022, and award winners will be notified April 16-17, 2022.
