About This Call

Think 360 Arts maintains an Online Roster of Teaching Artists available on their website as a resource for schools, community organizations, and individuals interested in arts integration programs for school-age students. Featured artists live in Colorado and are passionate about sharing their art and working with students in pre-K through higher education. The roster is organized by discipline and by program type.

Once accepted to the roster, teaching artists become independent contractors of Think 360 Arts and are eligible to work in schools and other educational settings, although there is no guarantee of work. Think 360 Arts reserves the right to determine an artist's ongoing inclusion in the directory based on work history and evaluations. New roster artists are expected to participate in training and professional development programs on topics relevant to working in educational settings.

Artists are reviewed for both artistic quality and educational appropriateness. There are a limited number of openings in each discipline, and the process is highly competitive. The first review evaluates artistic quality and creative ability based on submitted work. Visual artists must submit at least 6 examples of their own work; up to 2 additional pieces demonstrating collaboration with students may be included but are not required. The second review assesses appropriateness for educational settings through an in-person interview focusing on the artistic process, experience working with students, and ideas for innovative workshops connecting to content areas such as literacy, social studies, and science.

Submission requirements include: a digital portfolio or video audition link, a personal statement responding to three questions, a resume or CV, two letters of support, and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Submit 6-10 images total. Completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis within 8 weeks of submission. Entry deadline: 5/1/17 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Eligibility is limited to local Colorado residents.
