Call for Submission of Sculpture for Permanent Installation in Benson Sculpture Garden

Loveland High Plains Arts Council is accepting submissions for life-size or larger outdoor sculptures for permanent installation in Benson Sculpture Garden. The organization prefers bronze pieces but also considers stone, metal, or other durable, permanent materials that can withstand year-round Colorado weather conditions and unsupervised public interaction. Pieces produced by reputable and well-established US facilities are preferred, with a three-year warranty on workmanship, durability, and materials expected from the artist. All sculptures in the collection are professionally inspected, cleaned, and maintained annually.

Benson Sculpture Garden, located at 2908 Aspen Drive in Loveland, Colorado, has showcased sculpture since 1985. The 10-acre park currently displays 189 pieces worth over $5 million and draws tens of thousands of visitors annually. The garden has been recognized as one of the 200 most important modern and contemporary art sites worldwide and one of the 20 must-see contemporary art sites in the USA. It is the #1 attraction for Loveland on TripAdvisor. The garden is open year-round with no admission fee, except for the southwest corner which closes August 1-16 for the annual Sculpture In The Park Show and Sale.

Submissions must include a 1-2 page resume and three images clearly showing front, back, and side views of each proposed piece. One optional 360-degree video may be submitted. Artists may submit up to 3 different pieces. The entry fee is $10.00. Jury selection occurs October 1 - November 20, 2025, with artist notification by November 20. Selected sculptures will undergo VAC review in December 2025 and final approval in January 2026. Installation is scheduled for July 23 or before, 2026, with public dedication on July 25, 2026. Artists are responsible for delivery to Benson Park and are requested to attend the dedication. Open to sculptors age 18 and older working in permanent media suitable for outdoor installation.
