About This Call
Radford University Art Museum is seeking proposals for exhibitions to be held from 2025 to 2028 in three main campus galleries: Tyler Gallery (214 Tyler Ave.), Covington Gallery (a premier, vaulted space in the Covington Center for the Arts), and the ARTIS Center gallery (room 302) in the Adaptive Center for Innovation.
The Radford University Art Museum is dedicated to creating a welcoming and enriching environment where students, the university community, and the public can engage with original works of art. RUAM hosts 14 to 18 exhibitions per year, including solo exhibitions of contemporary artists, historical and curated exhibits, national and regional juried group exhibitions, and shows for university and high school students and the community. The museum holds a permanent collection of approximately 2,500 works, including notable collections from prominent estates, foundations, and artists, including Warhol, Picasso, and the largest collection of Wixárika and Mithila-Dalit artworks in the United States.
Applications are due March 24, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Applicants will be notified by May 27, 2025. All proposals are reviewed by the Radford University Art Museum Committee for available exhibition time slots from 2025-2028. Selected applicants may receive an invitation to exhibit or a request for a brief interview to discuss the artwork in more detail. Compensation and lodging arrangement stipends vary from $0-$5,500 depending on time frame, nature of the work, travel distance, and whether an artist talk or workshop is included. Entry fee is $20. Up to 2 applications are allowed per artist. Submit 15-20 digital images (JPEG or PDF), up to 5 minutes of time-based work with description, resume or CV, detailed exhibition proposal, artist statement, image list of all works, and indicate whether the proposal is for a group or solo exhibition and which gallery you prefer. This call is open to all professional artists and curators in the US and internationally. Group exhibitions and curatorial proposals are welcomed.
