Call for Emerging Artists (2025-2026)

Strata Gallery, a non-profit membership gallery located at 125 Lincoln Ave, Suite 111, Santa Fe, NM 87501, is accepting applications for its Emerging Artists Membership Program. The submission deadline is April 1, 2025, with notification of accepted applicants on May 1, 2025. The entry fee is $35 for submission of 10-15 images (JPGs at 72 dpi, approximately 1 MB each) via CaFÉ.

The one-year Emerging Artist Membership includes one solo exhibition (approximately two weeks), participation in an annual group exhibition (approximately three weeks), an artist page on the gallery website, promotion on social media and newsletter, monthly opportunities email list, director mentorship from established artists, and the opportunity to learn how to curate a solo exhibition and understand non-profit gallery operations. Artists retain 80% of sales revenue, with Strata Gallery taking a 20% commission. Members must attend four cohort meetings, a director curatorial meeting, an exhibition mentorship meeting, participate in both solo and group exhibitions, complete three days of gallery sitting, and develop and lead one creative workshop (virtual or in-person).

Eligibility requirements: applicants must not be represented by a commercial gallery and must not be in a tenured or tenure-track teaching position, or retired from one. Membership is open to artists working in all media including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, and mixed media. All artwork must be hang/display ready with proper hardware. No adhesive materials (tape, vinyl, wallpaper) may be applied to walls or floors. Applications must include a cover letter, bio, curriculum vitae, artist statement, 10-15 images in a single PDF, and a completed artist membership application form. There are no membership dues, though Strata Gallery encourages contributions of time or resources where possible.
