Call for Emerging Artists

Strata Gallery is accepting applications for new Emerging Members for a 1-year contract period. The gallery seeks innovative artists who are actively working and interested in being part of an Emerging Artist cohort. Membership is open to artists working in all media, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, textiles, and mixed media.

Emerging Artist Membership benefits include one solo exhibition (approximately two weeks), participation in an annual group exhibition, an artist page on the gallery website with statement, bio, and links to artist's website and social media, promotion on social media accounts, monthly opportunities email list, exposure in Santa Fe, 80% net of all works sold (gallery retains 20% commission), professional networking with members, insurance coverage of work while on display, and opportunity for direct mentorship from Established Artists. Members are required to attend video conference meetings every other month and two Emerging Artist meetings via online to discuss work for solo show. There are no membership dues, though the gallery encourages contributions of time or resources where possible.

Eligibility requirements: Must not be represented by a commercial gallery and must not be in a Tenured/Tenure Track teaching position or retired from one. Applicants must submit a cover letter, bio, curriculum vitae, artist statement, 10-15 images (JPGs 72 dpi, approximately 1 MB file size in single PDF), and completed Artist Membership Application Form. Submission fee is $35. Application deadline is May 1, 2022, with notification of accepted applicants on June 5, 2022. Strata Gallery is located at 418 Cerrillos Road, 1C, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
