About This Call
The new Health Performance Center at NSULA is designed to promote physical and mental well-being among students and athletes. This state-of-the-art facility will feature fitness equipment, multipurpose spaces for various activities, and health education and counseling resources. The artwork within this facility should be cohesive and reflect the vibrant spirit of NSULA athletics.
Project goals include reflecting the athletic spirit by capturing the essence of NSULA athletics and celebrating strength, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence. Artwork should utilize innovative design strategies to make the space vibrant and engaging, complement the aesthetics of the Health Performance Center, and enhance the building's exterior while creating a cohesive visual experience. Artwork must be suitable for an indoor environment yet capable of withstanding high traffic.
Applicants must be professional artists 18 and over with a minimum of five years of professional visual art experience. A complete application must include an artist résumé, a statement of interest describing why you are interested in the project, previous experience with public art, your methods of working, and how you believe the art will enhance the chosen space(s), three professional references with current contact information, and up to 10 images of original completed commissions or artworks (not proposals, sketches, or drawings) completed within the last 10 years. Each image must include the title, medium, dimensions, project budget in US dollars, year completed, location, and a description, with only one view of the work per image. Up to 3 videos of work examples are optional. Artist teams may apply and must designate one artist as the lead contact. The project budget is $63,000. Entry deadline: 12/9/24 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
