Call for Artists: LSU Music & Dramatic Arts, Band Hall, & Cypress Residence Interactive Installation

Louisiana State University seeks to connect three sites—the Music and Dramatic Arts Building, the Band Hall, and Cypress Residential Hall—through thematically related permanent installations that highlight the importance of music and dramatic arts as a discipline, a vital form of creative expression, and a way to bring people together. This project is open to a wide variety of artistic styles and approaches. The project budget is $250,000.

Applicants must be professional artists 18 and over with a minimum of five years of professional visual art experience. Artist teams may apply and must designate one artist as the lead contact. A complete application must include: an artist résumé demonstrating the required experience (not student work), a statement of interest describing why you are interested in the project, previous experience with public art, your connection or interest in Louisiana State University, and how you believe the art will enhance the chosen space(s), three professional references with current contact information, and six images of original completed commissions (not proposals, 3-D models, sketches, or drawings). Each image must show only one view of the work and include the title, medium, dimensions, project budget, year completed, location, and description in US dollars. Up to three videos of work examples are optional. Examples of work submitted must be original and recently completed within the last 10 years.
