Call for Artists: LSU Health Shreveport Public Art Installation

LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a striking public art installation for the entrance of its main building. The artwork will embody the institution's mission to teach, heal, and discover, serving as a visual anchor that encapsulates medical excellence and innovation while reinforcing core values of patient-centered care, collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge.

Applicants must be professional artists 18 and over with a minimum of five years of professional visual art experience. Artist teams may apply and must designate one lead contact. A complete application must include: an artist résumé (or résumés for each team member), a statement of interest describing why you are interested in the project, previous public art experience, your working methods, and how the art will enhance the space, three professional references with current contact information, and up to 10 images of original completed commissions or artworks (not proposals, sketches, or 3-D models). Each image must include title, medium, dimensions, project budget in US dollars, year completed, location, and description, with only one view per image. Up to 3 videos of work examples are optional. Examples of work must be original and recently completed within the last 10 years.

The project budget is $160,000. This call is open to professional artists regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identification, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical ability.
