Call for Artists: Louisiana Tech University Athletic Academic Center

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists or artist teams for a site-specific, exterior public art installation at the new Origin Bank Center for Student-Athlete Success at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. The commissioned artwork will be permanently installed at the entrance of the Origin Bank Center and should reinforce Louisiana Tech's identity, campus pride, and athletic tradition. The tone should be bold, dignified, and resonant. The selection committee has expressed a strong preference for a depiction of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog mascot, consistent with existing campus sculptures. Artists are expected to produce a realistic and recognizable rendering of the bulldog, honoring the visual tradition associated with game-day rituals and university identity.

Applicants must have at least five years of professional visual art experience and submit a résumé (not student work), a letter of interest (one page maximum), references with names and contact details of three people previously partnered with or who have commissioned work, and up to 10 images of past commissions or large-scale installations demonstrating relevant experience. Images must include title, medium, dimensions, project budget in US dollars, year completed, location, and description. Up to 3 videos are optional. Examples of work must be original, recently completed artwork within the last 10 years. Artist teams may apply and must designate one artist as the lead contact.

This call is open to professional artists 18 and over, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender identification, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical ability.
