Call for Artists – Granbury Regional Airport Terminal Art

The City of Granbury, through the Granbury Cultural Arts Commission, is inviting artists to submit proposals for an original suspended sculpture and/or mural to adorn the Granbury Regional Airport terminal's cove ceiling. The new 4,000-square-foot terminal features a striking cove ceiling with integrated changing LED lighting, specifically engineered to support a suspended sculpture weighing up to 450 pounds. The City has allocated a budget of $10,000 for the design, fabrication, and installation of the piece; however, proposals with higher budgets may also be considered if they strongly align with the vision for this public art installation.

Submission Deadline: June 24, 2025. Commission Meeting Review and Selection of Concept: July 17, 2025, followed by City Council Review and Concept Approval. Location: Granbury Regional Airport, 400 Howard Clemmons Rd., Granbury, TX 76048. Entry fee: $25.00. Work samples required: 1-5 images.

Submission Requirements: Concept design with detailed narrative, full budget breakdown including all associated costs and fees, and examples of past installed works to demonstrate experience. The Commission reserves the right to request additional information as needed during the review process. Eligibility: Open to all artists age 18 and over. Artists are encouraged to visit the airport during regular business hours to view the space in person.
