Call for Artists for Solo or Group Shows 2020-2021 and 2021-2022

Valdosta State University's Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery is reviewing artists for two curated shows and proposals for solo and small group exhibitions for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years. Artists 18 and older are invited to apply; all media will be considered. Artwork is insured while in the gallery and the gallery takes no sales commission.

Artists may propose a solo exhibition, a small group exhibition, or request consideration for inclusion in "Southern Ladies," a curated group show exploring what it means to be a "Southern lady" in the 21st century through a satirical lens that examines gender norms, feminism, femininity, and Southern identity. To apply, submit 5-20 images (up to 6 videos if relevant), a short description of your proposed exhibition with a list of all participating artists (for group exhibitions), artist statement(s), artist CV(s), and describe any expenses you would like the gallery to cover, such as artwork shipping. Some stipend money may be available depending on circumstances and gallery budget. The Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery hosts 8 exhibitions per academic year, with 3 time slots open for visiting artists. Images by accepted artists may be used for educational and promotional purposes by the gallery.
