About This Call
St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana invites artists to submit their work for consideration for the 2026 and 2027 gallery exhibition seasons. This opportunity is open to artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, regardless of religious affiliation. Local and regional artists are especially encouraged to apply.
Each exhibition is a solo show lasting approximately one month. Near the beginning of the exhibition, a Sunday artist reception is hosted, providing an opportunity for the congregation to meet the artist and engage with the work. The gallery space includes one 17.5-foot wall, one 31-foot wall, and one 8-foot wall. Most artists display between 15–30 pieces, depending on size. Installation uses hanging chains with adjustable hooks. There is no exhibition fee, no commission taken by the church, and artists retain full rights to their work. Artists may sell work directly and are encouraged to provide a QR code or contact information for interested buyers.
Exhibiting artists are asked to provide a short artist statement to help viewers connect with the artwork. Featured exhibition months include February (Black History Month), March (Women's History Month), May (Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month), June (Pride Month), August (Internal Church Project, limited availability), and November (Native American Heritage Month). To express interest, email Jessica Gormong at [email protected] with a brief artist bio, short artist statement, sample images of your work (or website/social media link), and your preferred 2026 or 2027 exhibition month.
