About This Call
The Time and Space Residency Program is an immersive studio experience awarded to six visual artists each year. Designed for artists of all career stages, the program prioritizes time and space for artists to engage fully in their creative practice, experiment, and pursue new projects and ideas. In an environment that encourages contemplation, experimentation, and exchange, the program is invested in new modes of thinking and working in the field of visual art.
For six weeks, residents receive a semi-private workspace in the Madeline Tourtelot Studio Building, access to printmaking, digital, metals, and ceramics studios and equipment, housing with a private bedroom and shared living spaces, a studio visit with a visiting critic, and the opportunity to engage with the public through an end-of-session open studio event. All residencies are provided free of charge.
Residency sessions run October 29 - December 10, 2026; January 7 - February 18, 2027; and April 1 - May 13, 2027. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and may not be enrolled in a degree-granting program at the time of the residency. Artists of all visual arts disciplines and career levels are eligible. Application materials include contact information, artist statement (150 words max), letter of interest (500 words max), ten work samples from the last five years, three references, scheduling preferences, and a $10 non-refundable application fee. The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
