Call for 2015 Gallery Exhibits: Solo Showcase and Groups

Lakeside Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to historic preservation and community arts, invites artists to exhibit at the Dole Mansion and Arts Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The Sage Gallery is located within the 1922 annex, while the Dole Gallery occupies the main floor of the 1865 mansion, with additional installation space on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Accepted artists participate in the First Friday Art Show (5pm-8pm) with average attendance of 300-500 guests and may be featured in Lakeside Legacy Foundation's marketing and Chicago Gallery News.

Open exhibit months include February, March (Dole Gallery only), June, August, September, October, and December, with flexibility for non-traditional installation spaces. The application fee is $30 for jury review. If accepted, the gallery exhibit fee is $150 per gallery space; applying for two showcases requires a $30 application fee for each, totaling $300 in exhibit fees if both are accepted. Artists must submit complete portfolios with professional, high-resolution JPG images titled with actual dimensions and accurate orientation. Original work only; photography and photo prints are acceptable. Group submissions require a lead artist/curator with resumes, artist statements, and artwork representing each participating artist.

Accepted work must be hand-delivered to 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 (shipping arrangements and costs are the artist's responsibility). All work must be professionally framed, wired, and ready to install; no saw tooth hangers. The Sage Gallery and Dole Gallery use a walker hanging system with no nails allowed. Installation typically occurs the Monday and Tuesday before the First Friday Art Show (9am-5pm), with take-down on the last Friday of the exhibition month. Art exhibits are typically 22 days long. After First Friday, artwork can be viewed and purchased Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. All accepted work for sale is subject to a 30% commission. Artists must provide a price sheet and submit a W9 before sales checks are issued. A gallery agreement and hold harmless form must be signed by all accepted artists.
