California Dreaming 2025

California Dreaming is the third annual group show by Dorado 806 Projects, a California coast-based arts and culture collective based in Santa Monica. The exhibition is dedicated to celebrating California and the communities that call it home, and opens during LA Art Week. In the wake of recent LA fires, the show holds space for those affected, honoring the beauty of the land and the resilience of its communities. A portion of the show's proceeds will be donated to Grief and Hope, a mutual aid nonprofit supporting those impacted by the fires. A limited-release series of prints will also be released with 100% of profits going to artists affected by the fires.

The show is curated by Amelie Laurice and Meghan DeRoma and accepts painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber, photography, and sculpture. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. Selected artwork must remain available for sale and in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. Work should be ready to hang with proper wiring, and must be under 24 inches in every direction (series of pieces are accepted if each piece meets the size requirement). Submit 1-3 clear, well-lit images at 2MB or above, cropped to the edges, with filename format: "FirstName_LastName_PieceTitle."

Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 pieces per submission. Drop-off dates are 2/15-2/18, with the opening reception on 02/22/25. The in-person exhibition runs 02/21-03/05/25, and the online show runs 02/21-03/21/25. Pick-up dates are 03/7-3/8/25. Notifications to artists are on a rolling basis.
