California Dreamin’ - Plein Air Show

Coastal Arts League presents California Dreamin' - Plein Air Show, a plein air painting exhibition running July 30 – August 31, 2026. This show is open to regional artists, 18 years and older, living in the SF Bay Area. Original work must be created on site and painted at least 80% outdoors. Accepted media categories include watercolor, oil, acrylic, gouache, and pastel.

Entry deadline is July 1, 2026, via OnlineJuriedShows. Artwork must be hand-delivered July 27, Noon - 4 pm, and picked up September 1, Noon - 4 pm. The reception is August 1, 1 - 4 pm. Entry fees are $45 for members (first entry) plus $5 for each additional entry up to 3; non-members pay $55 for the first entry plus $5 for each additional entry up to 3. Three Merit Awards will be given: $150, $100, and $50.

All exhibited work must be for sale and not recently displayed in this gallery. Submissions must be original work of the artist. 2-D artwork must not exceed 36" in width; gallery wrapped canvas must be a minimum of 1" in depth. Use plexiglass in framed pieces larger than 24 x 30". Accepted artwork must be delivered gallery ready with hanging wire with 2" of slack preferred, or professionally installed cleats acceptable on metal artworks. Images of the artist at work are encouraged.

Coastal Arts League collects sales tax and retains a 40% commission to support gallery programs; 60% of the purchase price is remitted to the artist at the close of the show. The gallery accepts no liability for loss or damage to pieces in the show. Security cameras are installed in the galleries to discourage theft. By entering, you grant Coastal Arts League permission to use entered work for promotion on the website and for future shows; all rights to submitted images remain the property of the artist.

Upload-ready file formats: JPG, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, no larger than 3 MB, sRGB color profile. Images must be high quality, in sharp focus, and a true representation of the original art. Images of 2D art should include only the artwork, no frame.
