CAL International 2026

The Conroe Art League (CAL) presents CAL International 2026, an international juried competition to be held at The Madeley Fine Art Gallery in the historic Madeley Building at 127 Simonton Street, Conroe, TX. The juror is Teresa L. Staley, a Houston-based multidisciplinary artist working in acrylics, oils, digital, and mixed media, who has been named one of the "50 Artists of Houston 2025" and earned consecutive River Awards. Awards include 1st Place ($2,500), 2nd Place ($1,250), 3rd Place ($1,000), and 4th Place ($750), with selections based solely on artistic merits.

Artists may submit 1-6 images with an entry fee of $35 for the first image and $15 for each additional image. Artwork must be original, solely the creation of the artist, with no AI assistance, and less than five years old. 2D artwork maximum size is 48"W x 72"H including frame and must not exceed 30lbs, while 3D artwork maximum size is 30"W x 30"D x 48"H and must not exceed 40lbs. All 2D work must be ready to hang with gallery wire. Subject matter must adhere to community standards with no nudity, obscenity, or violence.

Eligible works will exhibit from March 3-28, 2026, with an artists' reception and awards announcement on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 6-8 PM. CAL retains 20% commission on sales and reserves the right to reproduce submitted images for publicity purposes. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must use sturdy, reusable packaging with prepaid return shipping.
