CAL International 2023

Artists aged 18 or over, both national and international, are invited to enter original 2D and 3D artwork in this juried competition. The juror, Annette Palmer, will select eligible artworks to exhibit in the show in March 2023 and compete for awards. Total prize money of $5,500 will be awarded: 1st Place $2,500, 2nd Place $1,250, 3rd Place $1,000, and 4th Place $750. The entry deadline is December 16, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $35.00 for the first image submission and $15.00 for each additional image (minimum 1, maximum 6 images).

Eligible artworks will exhibit from March 1 to March 31, 2023 at the Conroe Art League gallery located at 127 Simonton Street, Conroe, TX. The artists' reception and awards announcement will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Finalists will be notified no later than January 15, 2023, and eligible artworks must arrive at the gallery no later than February 20, 2023.

Artwork must be original and solely created by the artist with no collaboration. 2D artwork maximum size is 48"W x 72"H (including frame) and must not exceed 30 lbs. Gallery-wrapped 2D artwork must be at least 1.5 inches thick with painted sides. Non-gallery-wrapped 2D artwork must be framed and ready to hang with gallery wire. 3D artwork maximum size is 30"W x 30"D x 48"H and must not exceed 40 lbs. Artists may sell eligible artwork during the exhibition; CAL retains 20% of the stated sale price. Artwork may be delivered in person or shipped to the gallery. Return shipping must be prepaid.
